Ye saints of the Lord is laid for your faith in his excellent word.

Welcome to Through the Bible.

We're in the 17th chapter of Revelation, and well, it's not pretty.

We'll look at the Great Tribulation and meet a wicked figure that's described as being drunk with the blood of the saints.

And there are no easy answers for why God allows the suffering of his children, both in the future and today.

But even when things look out of control,

we can be confident that God is still in control. And hardship can push us to know God more deeply.

Christians who have endured persecution for their faith know this all too well. And we know that it's

true also, in part because of testimonies that we hear from persecuted

believers all over the world who learn about Jesus Christ and then grow in their knowledge of

Him and even find spiritual community by hearing God's word taught on through the Bible.

It's sadly true, Steve.

And this is a hugely significant part of our ministry, the ministry to those who are suffering for their faith.

I was recently in India and met with a group of Bengali listeners, largely women, not all women, many of them talking about their husbands abusing them, not allowing them to go out and go to Christian meetings.

And it's a lot worse. And we don't want to focus on the gory side of this, but it is a very serious thing.

Over 380 million Christians experience a high level of persecution.

Yeah, and that number, it's like, okay, when you start talking about millions, it's like, okay, I kind of my eyes glaze over.

But when you go down to it, it says that's one in seven Christians in the world are facing persecution. And it doesn't mean my neighbor doesn't like me or makes fun of me. It means real persecution.
