Dissect is returning with its 14th season on Tuesday, March 17th, and this year we're dissecting.

Yes, we're putting one of the most influential acts of the 21st century under the microscope,

and not just one of their albums, but all the 21st century under the microscope, and not

just one of their albums, but all four. Most of our time will be spent with their two masterworks

discovery and random access memories, but we're also diving into homework, human after all, and

the iconic Alive 2007 tour. Why? Because as Dap Punk confirmed themselves, their collective discography actually

forms a single narrative, an intentional decades-long performance art project meant to examine

our evolving relationship with machines, ultimately questioning how we preserve our humanity

and the age of rapid technological acceleration. So yeah, kind of the perfect theme for 2026.

Now I know Daft Punk is a bit of a pivot for Dysect since I usually focus on hip hop artists,

but if you're a fan of Dysect, I can guarantee you're a fan of Daph Punk. You just might not know

it yet. And for those of you unfamiliar with their catalog, I've put together a playlist of Dap Punk's

Now, another thing that's different about this season is that Dapunk's music is largely

instrumental as opposed to the lyric-heavy world of hip-hop.
