Hello, and thanks for joining Revolution 250, where we look at events that took place

250 years ago this week. This is from the American Revolution podcast, just a short bonus episode

to remind you about important anniversaries from the Revolutionary War. This week, we remember the fall of Fort 96 in South Carolina.

Now, the bulk of the fighting in 1775 took place in the north, but the South did see its

share of fighting as well. On November 11, two ships attacked the South Carolina ship, the Defiance, at Hog Point near Charleston.

South Carolina Patriots were fighting a two-front war at this point.

They were dealing with the British Navy in Charleston Harbor, as well as loyalist forces inland.

The loyalists were actively opposing the patriots in the back country,
