You know, probably never in the history of the entire world has there ever been an Easter like this.

With more problems, more pestilence, more wars and rumors of wars, we've never had it like this before.

There is suspicion and hatred on every side. Even the United Nations is confused and bewildered and mixed up,

and it was supposed to be an organization to bring about world peace.

We've never had such international and national and domestic problems as we have now. But tonight, I want you to go back with me in 1900 years.

And I want you to see the three greatest and most momentous days in human history.

Those three days change the history of the entire world.

They change the course of civilization, because on those three

days, we have the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I want you to see, first of all,

the tragedy of Friday, the first of those days. On that so-called Good Friday, we find Jesus Christ is on a cross.

And there are several things that Jesus said that were very significant

that we were all reminded about last Friday.

One of them that Jesus said was, I thirst.

He told us something of the terrible physical pain that he endured for our sins.

Because Jesus Christ had a crown of thorns placed upon his brow.

They pulled his beard until his face bled.

They put spikes in his hand. They put a spear in his side.

And Jesus Christ suffered physically as few men have ever suffered.
