Yeah, it was very, very uplifting for those of us who started being

twins followers on the day they announced they were moving here in 1960.

And from the day that Pistol Pete Ramos shut out the Yankees on opening day in

Yankee Stadium and we were going to win the World Series one game end. This team is invincible.

And of course, Kot was a very big part of those teams from the very get-go. But we got excited about Tony even the first year because, as I wrote, in the Sporty News,

which is where you had to go for all minor league information, and it was always a week

or 10 days old, we discovered that this guy we'd never heard of had hit 4-10 for Whiteville, North Carolina,

in the rookie league. And, you know, we said, 4-10, I got to be able to hit, right? And then, of course,

I think the twins brought him up in 62 for six or seven at bats in September.

He came up.

And then, of course, 63, we got to see him more in September.

And 64 opening day, he was in a lineup and was a staple until he dived to try to make a catch in Oakland in the middle of the

2000, the 1971 season.
