Ed O'Dron saved his job um yeah just kind of ignore what we were saying about that we thought he wouldn't though I mean with like yeah this is a worst kept secret I feel like in

besides his murder fishing holes that he referenced loosely on that on that so very old you and I'm off the title type of deal there yeah you're right it is the worst kept secret and there was a feeling coming out of Lexington that he was going to be gone within 24 hours of that day

and so then why if you are Scott Woodward do you decide to make that move now instead of waiting till the end of the year and we've talked about that with with USC why do you get out ahead of this stuff and what's the point of doing something this far in advance is it's simply trying to help your hurting trying to see if you can get a head coach that maybe you can interview now and get ahead of the rest of the pack

I don't know what I do know is that probably before we move on from talking about Ed O'Dron we should at least tip our cap and a certain day for the job that he did because this is going to be overshadowed right without that when we were recording pods in 2019 the guy could do no wrong and there wasn't enough pause there wasn't enough positive things that we could really say about him and he went 49 and 17

but they the AD after the UCLA game they you know they he went to the boosters the people that would be able to help raise this money for the the buyout money

because I always tell you this like they're crazy because they have more money than us do it right it took less than 48 hours to raise less than 48 hours to raise the buyout money the buyout money has been in place since they lost to UCLA in Los Angeles in week 2 think about that

a lot of people are going to look back on his tenure and say he is who we thought he was and this was a bad hire from the jump and and always just with that and we're going to talk about him in a different sort of way

and I always wins I'll be honest and and part of this is is personal bias because we've gotten to know him as well but but the the constant genetic are going to continue to be there

and I think that there are some different circumstances that have led into both of the reason why they were let go of their respective jobs

and so I don't necessarily want to get into all that but we do this thing with with confirmation bias we've talked about that before

and with that ojran there are a lot of people who were just ready to rip us you the second he failed and so maybe to that have something to do with why this happened in the fashion that it did

yes and no when you're as bad as you were in 2020 and the things that happen with the opt-outs a year removed from that national championship

you know what some of this would have happened to anyone much less someone who is involved in the role that he is as a defendant in the title 9 case right now but this belief that he couldn't coach all always this group because he made hire is that forever

ever fans will always appreciate and say and this is the danger right now trying to replace your head coach and trying to get back to that 2019 level which I don't think it should be the bar that that should be an outlier type season it should be 2007 it should be 2011 2012

like that that type of error should be what LSU aspires to be but the danger now is saying well oh you know we got to recreate that magic in 2019

maybe call lightning in a bottle but he did that in a way that very few people who have ever coached in this sport could do and nobody can ever take 2019 away from him and from LSU fans
