Jeremiah chapter 49 verse 39

but in the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elem, declares the Lord.

This is the last verse in Jeremiah 49, a chapter that's filled, much like the chapters around it in the book of

Jeremiah with judgment from God on different nations and there's a lot we could

pray through based on how God judges nations who

boast in their treasures and who take pride in themselves.

G. R.9 4916 is such a potent verse,

though you make your nest as high as the eagles,

I will bring you down from there,

declares the Lord.

Just a reminder to pray for humility and to realize that God is the one who raises up

and God is the one who brings down.

But the reason I want to lead us to pray according to the last verse,

verse 39, is because after all these verses about judgment, we read, but in the

latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam

declares the Lord. So God is judge and restorer and it's this picture of God as a restorer that I want to encourage you
