0:00.0	Welcome to the Feminida podcast. This is Nancy Wilson. Thanks for joining me today. There's a prayer in the Psalms that you're probably familiar with, and that is, restore my soul. At Christchurch, each week we sing from Psalm 51, which is restore unto me the joy of
0:23.9	thy salvation and uphold me with thy free spirit. There it is, that word restore. We need
0:32.3	constant restoration to walk in the joy of the Lord. And there are other references to this idea of being restored.
0:41.2	In Psalm 23, He restores my soul. A request for restoration appears three times in Psalm 80,
0:49.6	in verse 3 and then repeated in verses 7 and 19. The King James renders it, turn us, O God, rather than
0:57.9	restore us. But the new King James reads like this, restore us, oh God, cause your face to shine,
1:05.6	and we shall be saved. Without God's ongoing restoration, we would perish. If he did not turn us, direct us,
1:16.0	restore and revive us, we would not be saved. To restore is to return, to bring back,
1:24.0	to revive, to rekindle, to renew. That prefix re means again. Our Christian life needs many
1:32.7	agains. We need constant renewal and revival. Just like our bodies need constant renewal with
1:39.9	sleep and food and water. Our spirits need constant revival and renewal. Moms, take heart. You're making
1:48.7	dinner again. You're washing those sheets again. God is renewing and restoring and reviving you
1:56.0	again and again. You are an agent of renewal yourself in your own home, so glory in that. This is a good work,
2:04.2	a small work of imitating the great work of God. In the New Testament, the word renew is used in
2:11.1	several places. We were once new, but we need constant renewal as born-again Christians. Romans 12, verse 2, and do not be
2:22.6	conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Notice that this renewal
2:29.3	brings a transformation in our minds. This renewal is an ongoing work in progress. We see this also
2:36.7	in Ephesians 4, verse 23, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. The context is this same
2:44.4	idea of putting off the old man and putting on the new, the new man, the renewed man.
2:53.0	2 Corinthians 416. Therefore, we do not lose heart, even though our outward man is perishing,
2:59.9	yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. What a wonderful promise this is.
