0:30.0	Our verse for today comes from 2 Corinthians 6-18. Scripture says, and I will be a
0:44.8	Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.
0:53.8	By the sacrifice of Jesus, you and I have been made sons and daughters of the
0:59.2	most high God. We've been redeemed and transformed in the children and
1:03.7	heirs to the kingdom of God. Romans 8-15-17 says,
1:08.9	for you do not receive the Spirit of slavery to fall back in the fear, but you've
1:14.6	received the Spirit of adoption as sons by whom we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit
1:22.7	Himself bears witness with our Spirit that we are children of God, and if children
1:28.8	than heirs. Heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ provided we suffer with
1:35.1	him in order that we may also be glorified with him. In the story of the
1:42.2	prodigal son, the Father cloths his wayward and rebellious son with a rope, a
1:47.5	ring, and sandals. All three of these symbols represent a restoration of
1:54.0	sonship in different ways. The Son who returned to his father to simply be
1:59.6	employed as a slave was immediately restored as a child in error. The Father
2:06.0	had no desire to make his son pay for his own sins. He simply wanted restored
2:11.9	relationship with his child again. And our Heavenly Father feels the same way
2:18.0	about us. At salvation, we were restored to right standing in the eyes of God.
2:24.2	2nd Corinthians 6-18 says, I will be a Father to you, and you should be sons and
