0:24.6	Our verse for today comes from 2 Corinthians 618.
0:45.7	Scripture says,
0:47.0	And I will be a father to you,
0:49.3	and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
0:51.9	says the Lord Almighty.
0:56.9	By the sacrifice of Jesus, you and I have been made sons and daughters of the Most High God.
1:03.6	We've been redeemed and transformed into children and heirs to the kingdom of God.
1:09.6	Romans 8 15 through 17 says, for you do not receive the spirit of slavery
1:14.7	to fall back into fear, but you've received the spirit of adoption as sons by whom we cry,
1:22.5	Abba, Father. The spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if
1:31.2	children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him
1:38.4	in order that we may also be glorified with him. In the story of the prodigal son, the father clothes his wayward and rebellious son with a robe,
1:51.0	a ring, and sandals.
1:54.0	All three of these symbols represent a restoration of sonship in different ways.
1:59.0	The son, who returned to his father father to simply be employed as a slave,
2:04.5	was immediately restored as a child and heir. The father had no desire to make his son pay for his
2:12.0	own sins. He simply wanted restored relationship with his child again.
2:22.1	And our Heavenly Father feels the same way about us.
