Good to see you, Ryan. Real quick. Way back in the day on this show, when I thought, for some reason, I needed padding in a podcast that goes three hours regularly. I used to open the show by asking you a personal question. This is kind of gone by the wayside. But a few people, new listeners have been going back into the archives and saying like, oh, I miss getting all that great Ryan Marker lore at the top of the show. This one seems appropriate. I'm going to ask the same question to our guest GMs in a second when we bring them in.

I have worked in food service. I've been a barista here and there. Yes. Ryan, have you ever done time in the restaurant trenches? Of course I have. Of course I have. Actually, I remember you worked at probably three different restaurants in the time I've known you.

Yeah, exactly. In fact, maybe my favorite of all was I was a singing waiter.

I was a singing waiter at two places in my time. Yeah. I was on a boat called the Spirit of Philadelphia where we would serenade the drunken, you know, people eating their prime rib.

And then I also was in sort of an Italian place where we had to sing opera.

Wow.

Yeah.

But I got fired from that because I couldn't learn the opera. It was all in Italian. Opera's tough. Yeah, it was super hard. I was just like, but I'm assuming much more difficult than what

you had to sing on the boat. Oh, yeah. The boat was like come sail away and like shit like that.

You know what I mean? Like yeah. Like great. I was all like water themed. It was all songs about being on water. Yes, there was, there was one song that everybody would do solo, and mine was, it's now or never, the Elvis song. Wow. So I would bring an old lady up on stage and sort of sit her down and sing it's now or never. And that's how I would get my tips. So it was a,

it was a good gig. It was a good gig. I got a lot of money from that place. So, yeah. And that, that's just the tip of the iceberg. I worked in plenty. So what?
