Hello and welcome back to Sociology 101. Today we're going to be responding to a friend of mine. I consider him a friend. He's a pastor. He's named Chris Harris. He and I have engaged back and forth with

each other for years. He's back, even back before I started the podcast, we were doing

Google Hangouts and everything else. And Chris is relatively a nice Calvinist. When I say

relatively, you know what I mean by that, because relative to some of the internet Calvinists and objectors out there can get pretty vitriolic.

And Chris is relatively nice when it comes to these kinds of things.

And so it's one of the reasons I like to engage with Calvinists who represent themselves with a Christ-like spirit.

And Chris typically does that.

But I do feel like Chris does represent a group of moderate type of Calvinists. I say moderate, a little bit less superlapsarian, that seem to sidestep the issue. Now, I know the word sidestep may sound like he's purposefully evading an argument or he's purposefully

being a malicious and that may not necessarily be the case some people can sidestep a difficult

subjects just because of the very very fact that they're they're difficult to deal with and so you

don't want to have to deal with them so you sidestep them, just recently, Chris has picked up on podcasting and doing YouTube videos.

He's got a small following right now.

And so he's the first time he's putting out videos.

And videos sometimes are a little bit more easy to engage with.

And so that's one of the reasons I'm wanting to engage with his video here.

Because he gives,

I think, a really good example of how Calvinists have typically sidestepped the situation.

They have evaded the actual point of contention.

That's why I always talk about the point of contention.

What is our actual point of contention?

Because Calvinists, typically speaking, and and generally speaking have become very good at sidestepping the major point of contention of kind of of making it about

something else than what we're trying to actually discuss and and so that's where I'm going to call
