Welcome to Manager Tools. Today's topic, Resistent Directs in One-on- Ones. Here we go. One of the most frequent questions we get from folks has got to be particularly when it comes to one on ones right is what do we do about the direct who doesn't want to have them?

0:31.0

We just walk away, right? It's like feedback.

0:33.0

Yeah, it's right. Shot across the bow. Just walk away. No problem, dude. You don't want to meet with me? It's all good. Yeah. And look, when we hear that question, you know, there's a part of us that discounts the idea behind it.

0:47.0

You know, no worries folks, we promise we'll answer it, but there certainly are some managers who, after having bought into an idea, will

1:56.0

After several of his directs who were managers were already doing them with their directs because of our

2:01.1

Podcasts right it's Right, there's this cognitive dissonance, right?

2:07.0

Being willing to create, like you say, a truly artificial reality

2:10.0

to support the worldview you already have and yeah I really think that this is a

2:16.8

false defense attempting to throw up all possible roadblocks to the idea.

2:24.0

Right, okay, so hopefully folks are not making this up and they're willing to try doing

2:30.0

one-on-ones with their folks.

2:31.0

But what about those folks who go do one-on-ones with their folks, but what about those folks who go do one-on-ones with their folks?

2:35.2

They start to do them and they get resistance. What about those folks? What do we do there
