Summary

No two families are alike. No two children are alike. They develop at different times, have different fingerprints, differing personalities, different looks and DNA—God made them to be unique. And He did not intend for us to worry if we were doing enough at every stage of life.

Hi everyone, welcome to at home with Sally. I'm Sally Clarkson and I have the biggest

0:13.0

privilege in the world to be with so many friends from all over the world who join me every

0:18.6

week to listen to my stories, inspiration, biblical encouragement and I am just so glad

0:24.6

that you're here today. Thanks so much for joining me.

Hello my friends, welcome to at home with Sally. I am sitting in my little kitchen where

0:43.1

I have a couch and I work on my computer here in Oxford and I'm so excited to read this

0:48.6

story that I'm going to read to you today. I have so many letters from women and people

0:54.8

who compare themselves to others or feel inadequate or feel like they're behind or feel like

1:18.2

to read an old story where I was actually under someone else's very arbitrary standard that

1:27.4

I had failed at and I thought oh no I might as well quit. I'm just not that good of a mother,

1:32.7

good of a wife, good of a home school or good of a writer, whatever it was. And I hope

1:38.3

that it will encourage you today because I do believe that life is a long journey, it's

1:46.0

a marathon, we have many, many years to be able to accomplish what we need to and so I hope

1:52.2

you'll enjoy that today. But first of all I just wanted to thank all of you who've been writing me

1:58.8

about my new book, Tea Time Discipleship, Sharing Faith, One Cup at a Time. This is such a dear and

2:08.4

important book to me. I know I've put out too many books but I just can't stop thinking about

2:16.2

you about my children, about the importance of what we're doing, about how to last long.

2:22.7

You know finishing a book is truly like having a baby, it's in the womb for a long time. It's

2:28.6

followed by a whole lot of work and pain for a brief time. And then finally you get to hold it
