When we gave our kids a phone, we told them like, this is not your phone. This is my phone.

I'm letting you use this phone. Oh, wow. And I don't do that because I'm being draconian or I'm being mean because I afforded them

their privacy. But what they needed to know was objective right or wrong,

can't be objective right or wrong because dad says so, because mom says so, it has to be right

wrong because it is. Which means that at some point, your kids

are going to reach a certain level of cognition

and comprehension where they're going to find you

doing the thing that you told them was wrong.

She was, daddy, I don't think you handled that very well.

And she's about like 13, 14 years old.

I could remember for a split second

that kind of pride welling up in me like,

oh, you don't think I handled something very well.

Well, pray tell.
