This is a non-Kio Residence. I was always interested in sound, high quality sound.

And even as a boy, I was creating sounds with good quality amplifiers and

loudspeaker systems and as I grew up into this in England shortly after leaving

his majesty's royal signals which was during World War II, I went into

partnership with the gentleman who together we formed a public address and sound recording

system. Those were the days when sound recording was on 78 rpm records, four and a half minutes on a 12 inch record, and three and a half minutes on the 10 inch record, did not give you much latitude for editing or presentation.

But we did the public address during the summer and we did recording during the winter.

We didn't make any money out of it, but it was a lot of fun.

We did some very big shows, for instance when Princess Elizabeth, as she was there, she's now Queen Elizabeth, went to Clemouth to reopen one of the bombed churches that had been destroyed during the war.

I had the contract doing public press and so that was a lot of fun. We covered the entire city center with loudspeakers and microphones,

the only microphones that we had in those days, were an omnidirectional microphone.

We didn't have the choice. We didn't have the choice we had to be.

And to prevent these things from howling back and so on was quite a problem.

But we did it, we did it extremely well, I would say it myself.

We were very proud for that.
