Hello and welcome to the naked scientists with me Ben Valzler.

This week we're bringing you the highlights from researchers revealed.

This was an event held in the Great North Museum in Newcastle-upon-Tyne as part of the European

Researchers Night. Not only was this the first time that the UK has been involved with Researchers Night,

but it was a spectacular start. The evening saw

live science demos on stage from our own Dave Ansel, also live science comedy and

music with the punk scientists. Brainiacs John Tickle was discussing the physics of custard.

Fashion designer Helen Story was explaining her

science-inspired design

and a whole room chock full of Durham University researchers were eager to share their research with everybody who came.

So coming up, we'll be hearing about the Great North Museum itself and why a collection of My Little Ponies might be just as important as a T-Rex.

We explore the murder mystery story behind the Lindel man and find out how geologists are helping

to stop floods.

Plus, observant listeners may have noticed that

Chris Smith has been absent from the show for the last couple of weeks. He's

actually been on the other side of the world in Australia and he'll join us

with the latest science news and tales of blood red skies in

Sydney.
