Welcome to our daily Rotary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

I apologize to everyone for the sound of my voice. I have a terrible

cold this week and I think that you'll find that it fits in very well with our topic today.

Now by his prayer and sacrifice Jesus opened the way to heaven and by baptism he makes us children of God.

And I'm sure all of us have seen how little children love to get involved in the work of mom or dad. They

usually mess it up, but they derive such joy by participating. What do you think I'm doing?

Ah good point. I'm here to mess it up. But God the Father wants to give all his children the joy of

participating with Jesus in the work of saving souls.

He wants us all to play our part in helping others to heaven.

Jesus said to Faustina, my daughter, I want to instruct you on how you are to rescue souls through

sacrifice and prayer. You will save more souls through prayer and suffering

than will a missionary through his teachings and sermons alone.

This played out very powerfully

in the life of St. Faustina.

On March 29th, 1934, she offered her life as a sacrifice for souls,

and Jesus responded,

I am giving you a share in the redemption of mankind.

And then in August, Mary came to visit her. She was sad. Her eyes were cast down, but she made it clear that
