And these two verses are so good because they're a reminder of a truth we see all throughout

the Bible that God will work in many different ways. God does all these things twice, three times with a man,

God will work in all kinds of ways in our lives to keep us and to pull us back,

bring us back from the pit of sin or self-sufficiency in this world.

And this is really good news to know that God loves us so much, that he will pursue us

and do any number of things to draw us back to himself and to the light of life that he's designed

us for. Now, we know here in the story of Job that the suffering

he's experienced is not due to particular sin in Job's life. At the same time, what Elihu is

saying here certainly applies to when we do sin in our lives, praise God, that he will show us the consequences

of our sin and will draw us back to himself. We need God's love to keep us, save us,

deliver us continually from ourselves and our propensities to sin. And at the same time,

even when we walk through suffering that may not be a specific result of particular sin in our

lives, much like Job is experiencing here, we can know and trust that God in all the things that are happening around us,
