Summary

Many meditation traditions are goal-centric. That is, the meditation practice is used as a tool to get to a level of "awakening" that you're not already at. There is a different way to practice though, one that takes the endpoint as the path. In this session, we'll discuss what that can look like. As always, if you'd like to get free access to my resource library, including guided meditations, book recommendations, app recommendations, and more, text your email address to: +1 (631) 337-8298

exists to live in the light of your true nature. Perfection is not a prerequisite

for anything but pain. Perfection is not a prerequisite for anything but pain.

1:24.4

Please, oh please, don't continue to believe in your stories of deficiency and

failure. This is the day of your awakening. You know, a big part of my practice

1:42.6

these days is not getting caught up in the goal-centric method of practice, which

is common in certain meditation traditions, including the one that I practice in

Burma. There's an idea that you are working toward enlightenment, wholeness,

2:04.9

integration, whatever you want to call it, awakening freedom. And that when you do

the practice over a period of time, you're eventually moving closer to that

2:16.2

state. It's something you're developing. And on one level there's obvious truth

2:21.6

to that. We're building, we're growing into something. But there's another

2:27.6

perspective that could be taken that's equally valid, which is that your fundamental

nature is inherently whole, inherently awake, enlightened, free. And we just need to
