Eventually, you know, it takes a little bit of time to put together these episodes. So when it comes to isolation in the terms of domestic

abuse, isolation means that the victim is actively being separated physically, socially, and emotionally

from the people in their life by the means of persuasion, aka manipulation, threat, or physical

violence.

Isolation is a significant factor in domestic abuse because it limits our interactions with family, friends, coworkers, and these are necessary interactions for our emotional and psychological well-being, but also for our safety.

Domestic abuse is rooted in control, and the more alone a victim is, the more control an

abuser has.
