This is the mop-up. I'm David Feldman in New York City. The House of Representatives is expected to vote

on the 2026 budget as early as today. This, after the Senate version of the budget bill passed Tuesday, 51 to 50,

with Vice President J.D. Vance being forced to break the tie. This bill cuts Medicaid by 20 percent.

This bill cuts food stamps by 15 percent, making it the largest cut to America's social safety net in American history.

And now it faces objections in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives

by fiscal conservatives who insists these cuts aren't deep enough, not cruel enough.

At the same time, not one of these Republicans

criticizes the $4.5 trillion tax cut for the richest 1% that will add at least $3.5 trillion to our

national debt.

Only three Senate Republicans voted against it on Tuesday.

Susan Collins of Maine stepped up and voted no.

Tom Tillis of North Carolina voted no just hours before he announced his retirement from politics and Rand Paul

Senate Republican from Kentucky who he voted now he voted no and now says

he doesn't see how this bill passes in the house he told reporters the Senate

took the original house version of the bill and added way

more debt. Rand Paul added any Republicans who call themselves fiscal conservatives couldn't

possibly vote for it. Again, nothing about the millions thrown off Medicaid.

Millions thrown off Obamacare.

Millions thrown off food stamps.

It's the debt, Rand Paul is worried about.
