| 0:49.9 | It's going to be an overarching sort of theme in Congress. And it's also not really clear that it's going to happen in any way. |

| 1:03.9 | I thought it'd start Dylan with, can you lay out a little bit what was in this tax framework that got released? |
| 1:12.9 | What is it? What is a framework even? |
| 1:14.9 | Sure. The framework is not a finished piece of legislation and the people touting it in the White House in Congress |
| 1:24.9 | are sure to tell you this because it's a way to get out of answering a lot of specific questions about it. |
| 1:30.9 | But it does lay out, it's sort of like a campaign plan. It's like that level of specificity. |
| 1:35.9 | And so it's laying out roughly what they think the tax rates on the individual side should be, what tax breaks they're willing to close, |
| 1:44.9 | what they are going to try to get the corporate rate down to, and then sort of a few assorted other measures. |
| 1:50.9 | So I think two of the few things that Republicans agree on and have agreed on for years |
| 1:56.9 | are that we should get rid of the estate tax and the alternative minimum tax. |
| 2:00.9 | And so it includes that and then gets into sort of slightly more detail about what to do with corporate and individual taxes. |
| 2:06.9 | So the corporate side, the big thing is that they're going to try to cut the rate from 35 to 20%. |
| 2:11.9 | That's obviously a very, very large percentage cut. |
| 2:16.9 | And they claim that this is going to happen through some changes to the base so that you're using the lower rate |
