So I'm going to start today and pick it up kind of where we left off yesterday with a shout

out to the Texas House Democrats. Now, as of the time of yesterday's recording, the Texas

state Democrats who left the state in order to protect voters in their state and quite frankly

to protect democracy across the nation, ended up having to return late yesterday.

Now, there are some folks who are very concerned about the fact that they returned and sort

of had a vision of them staying out of the state in perpetuity, I suppose.

But the reality is they have done much of what they could, which included, number one,

raising national awareness about what was really going on with the Texas redistricting effort,

sounding the alarm and

making it clear to other Democratic-led states and other states that might have the capacity to

adjust their redistricting lines to ward off what it is that the Texas Republicans are actually

trying to do. So they raised national awareness. They sounded the alarm. They got everybody from my

governor, Kathy Hochel, who was talking about doing a midterm redistricting redo. You've got Gavin Newsom,

governor of the state of California, who's actually showing up in some pretty powerful ways.

Now, again, me and Gavin, we don't, you know, sometimes he'd be getting on my nerves. I don't like

how he rolls on everything. But on this topic, we are in lockstep. And it's been excellent for

ensuring that people on the ground, voters understand what

is happening. It helps us to have an opportunity to explain what redistricting is. And admittedly,

redistricting is one of the least sexy parts of democracy. But as I've been saying, if you cannot

pay attention to the boring parts of democracy, honey, that's where the power is. That's where they

hid all the secrets of power. And so it has been really helpful for that. However, even though the Texas House Democrats did come back into the
