Republicans opened their convention in Milwaukee today, just two days after former President Trump was shot by a sniper at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

And last night, from the Oval Office, President Biden called for lowering the temperature in politics and condemned the shooting.

There's no place in America of this kind of violence for any violence ever.

Period. No exceptions. We can't allow this violence to be normalized.
