There have been many adaptations to the following story, but my two favorites are the 1999

film Sleepy Hollow, in which Johnny Depp perfectly portrays a squeamish, anxiety-ridden

Ikebad crane, and the 2013 cartoon The Smurfs, Legend of Smurphy Hollow.

Some of you may enjoy the Disney version, the adventures of Ikebad and Mr. Toad, but

for me there was too much dams singing and carrying on.

But today we're going back to the original.

This name was given, were told in former days, by the good housewives of the adjacent country,

from the inveterate propensity of their husbands to linger about the village tavern on market

days.
