Hello, and welcome. Why is this happening with me, your host, Chris Hayes.

This week, I went to Minneapolis, Minnesota. After the death of Alex Pretty happened on Saturday, shot to death at point-plank range by, we think, two federal agents who have as yet to be identified.

That, of course, follows the shooting death at point-blank range of Renee Good.

In both cases, the Trump administration immediately moved to slander, smear,

insult, degrade the people that their government officials had killed, domestic terrorists,

assassins, etc. This has caused enormous outrage, despair, anger, political problems to the White House. And I had not done a show

on the road in a really long time, but felt like it was really important to go there and was

there for a few days and got to talk to a bunch of people. And I was also there with two of my

really good friends and colleagues. Alex Wagner, who's MS now senior political analyst, also host of the podcast, Runaway Country for Crooked Media, and Jacob Soberoff, who's an MS now senior political and national reporter. And the three of us were all there together, kind of taking all this in. And there was way more than I could get on the show, and more than I had to say. A lot of what I reported and

we'll talk about this was really hard to get on camera for reasons that'll become clearer as we talk.

But I just felt like I wanted to sit with me, Alex, and Jacob had a drink at the bar on the last

night that we were there and we're just kind of debriefing everything. And I was like,

oh, well, we should just do this because I still have a, there's still a lot rattling around my head.

So Alex and Jacob, it's great to have you on.
