Nancy Guthrie is 84 years old.

She lives alone in a beautiful home in Tucson, Arizona.

Her daughter Annie lives about four miles away from her.

Her other daughter, Savannah, is an A-list celebrity and the host of the Today Show on

NBC and a former court TV correspondent.

Last Saturday, Nancy had dinner with her daughter and her husband, Tomaso, at their home.

At around 9.45, the family says she returned home. Then at some point in the middle of the night,

something terrible happened.

The next morning, friends from church were concerned she wasn't at Sunday service, and the family went to check on her.

Nancy was not home.

But her blood was on the front steps of her home.

As the search continued, the media was sent a ransom note.

Savannah and her family responded on social media.

Then a second note was sent to the media.

And finally, Savannah and her siblings responded saying,

We will pay.
