Today we're inside Portsmouth City Council's latest full council meeting, the last one

actually before the local elections in May.

So on the agenda, there's the usual public deputations, the bringing of residents' voices

straight into the chamber, few key formal businesses like some

declarations and some reappointments that were from an appointment that was made actually

in the last meeting and a packed set of emotions and debates tackling local priorities.

So from the issues residents are raising to the political arguments playing out

between councillors. This is where the decisions are challenged, shaped and sometimes

contested, although occasionally harmonious agreement does break out. So this is, this is where we'll

break down, who spoke, what was said, and what it all means for Portsmouth.

And those who might be on the more cynical edge of the political spectrum might wonder whether in the last full council before the election happens, whether there is leaflet fodder in there simon we may have

seen it before we ask the council to solve world hunger and they voted against it because they

said they couldn't do it they want the small children to starve so um we will keep half an ear open for that just to see whether anything has a whiff of disingenuousness about it. But no, it's full councils are always worth a look. And let's see whether any questions get asked and whether any get answered.
