Summary

REPLAY THURSDAY: A friend of mine once said to me, "If you don't like my cooking, lie to me." She was just kidding, but it reminded me how easy it is for us to pick and choose when we're going to lie or tell the truth. Lying is habit forming, but it is also a breakable habit. When we know better, we can do better. God can help us to remove this habit from our lives, but we will need to ask for His help and yield to His Word. "Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously." (Psalm 119:29) NEW IN THE SHOP AT KEEP THE HEART! Apply: Living What We Learn--A 31-Day Devotional by Francie Taylor

oh, this is really good.

0:39.3

That earned you a second helping. Uh-oh. Or maybe you've had one of those clashes with someone,

and it didn't get quite resolved right. And the other person asked you, is everything okay

between us now? Your mouth said, yeah, we're all good.

0:56.2

But your mind said not even close. You're trying to avoid confrontation and conflict, but you're not

telling the truth. Lying is a tough habit, but it's a breakable one.

When we do something wrong repeatedly, we stop seeing it as wrong.

1:40.3

Lying is like overeating.

1:42.3

It's so easy, it becomes an undesirable habit. Like any sin, the more

1:48.5

we practice it, the less it bothers our consciences. We don't want to get to the point where lying

is a way of life for us. So let's consider three ways we can begin to break this ugly habit. First, we need to stop lying to others.

I remember years ago I was moving the sofa in the living room and I was rearranging the room.

There was a narrow space between the wall and the sofa that just barely allowed room for a
