ABOUT US
Female comedy duo Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley have been performing, teaching, and writing comedy internationally for a combined 40+ years. They have been moms for one quarter of that time and it shows. How do they cope? They laugh about all of the craziness that comes with being a mom and they want you to laugh about it too! From snot to stretchmarks to sleepless nights, Kristin and Jen know firsthand that parenting is a hard job and they invite you to join them in taking it all a little less seriously (even if for a few short minutes a day). After all, Jen currently has four days of dry shampoo in her hair and Kristin’s keys are still in her front door. They try, they fail, they support each other, and they mom as hard as they can.

Jenny, are we podcasting?

0:11.9

Are we podcasting?

0:13.1

I believe we are.

0:14.6

I think the first time we ever started with that.

0:17.4

Yeah.

0:17.6

I think we're usually trailing off on another conversation.

0:20.2

And Jen's holding her drink in a weird way again. God, I'm so unnatural. Jen holds a drink like she's doing a commercial for that drink at all times no matter what. Kristen's decked out in golf gear and she's not going golfing. Actually, she's worried... I don't know why you're bringing that up. I brought my golf club because I'm having a really hard time. And Britt's going to help with your sleep? Yeah, I'm in a down, I'm not having a good time with the sport. And it's the only thing I have with my son that makes me connect. He's so good, too. He could be, I'm telling you, I don't, I'm not one of those to like overly brag about my kid, but he is an excellent golfer. Yeah. And he's so easy, breezy. Galleship. He just doesn't, like, they get golf scholarships? No, I need Eleanor to get her act together. She's more like me. She gets so pissed off when we're golfing. What about swimming for her? She really is a good swimmer. She wants to do that this year. She's going to try out for the swim team.

1:11.3

She's going to try out for racing all that. Yeah, I think she'd love that. Yeah. She's she's definitely geared up this year. You guys, I can't believe we go back to school so soon. I know. I can't wait. I'm just going to say it. I'm ready. for them to go back to school.

1:25.6

I am just, can I, can I brag about now here we are on our

1:30.9

way back to school and I finally did something useful as a parent. And I'm not joking. I've done

1:35.9

nothing useful as a parent like this entire summer. Isn't that summer? We're having like a nice

1:41.6

relaxing summer. We're not going on a trip or anything like that, but we're like everybody's kind of sleeping and late.

1:47.3

It's great. We're starting off the day slow. We're binge watching dance moms. We're watching.

1:52.1

That sounds like a great summer to me. It's kind of been really lovely. I think everybody's really happy with it. But it has been a lot of iPad time. So last week, I was like, we're going to make a backyard book in there. We're like, what's a backyard book? I'm like, you're going to go around and you're going to pick a sample of a flower and you're going to go, I Naturalist app, so you still get to use your device. It's this free app. We're going to take pictures on our iPad and we're going to create it.

2:17.5

But what you do is you take a picture on your, on your, it's cool.

2:21.6

And then it tells you what the thing is.

2:23.4

So what they do is they like tape the sample of the plant to a piece of paper and then they

2:29.3

write down with a pen what it's called the genus and species, what's interesting about it, and like, how to make it thrive. That sounds fun. They're loving it. Oh, that's great. They're learning something. I'm not shitting on it. I'm just saying I'm in my head. I'd be like, when's this done? I'm going to go back to Roblox. They loved it. We spent like three hours. The only reason we stopped because everybody got hungry, but we realized we have a fig tree. And just yesterday, Dash, is like, you know what? I think that's a fig tree. Good on him. Like in the neighbor's yard. So we like did the thing. Like, it's been honestly great. And we're just doing it in the backyard. I'm a plants junkie, and I try to get my kids into it.

3:07.7

And the amount of soft focus that they have, I literally can tell that, like, Eleanor's thinking about what her Pinterest page should look like as I'm like, isn't this special? This is the third time. It's bloomed. She's like, oh, let me make all the boners go down. So we have, it's like a, called fake honeysuckle, quote, unquote. How many 28-year-old hot dudes are staying on with this? Yep, really. Is she talking about her boobs? No, no, she's talking about real honeysuckle. Actual honeysuckle, and it attracts hummingbirds. Oh. Yes So we got a lot of hummingbirds out there.

3:41.6

And this is what over 40 looks like, you guys.

3:43.5

There you go.

3:44.0

Everybody.
