Happy Thanksgiving, friends. Is anyone listening today? I bet a few of you loyal listeners are, and some of you have come back and are listening later.

You've already had all the turkey you can take, and the leftovers might even be thrown out by now.

I hope you have the best day today celebrating with people you love or are serving in your place of influence.

We've been talking all month about parenting, and I love this, one of my favorite subjects because it's one of my favorite things in life to do.

My husband and I love being parents together.

So, so fun.

Gone by way too fast, by the way.

But one of the things we battled like so many of you in this day and time with everything at our fingertips,

how in the world do we raise kids that are not entitled?

Is that even possible? I think Thanksgiving has a lot to do

with it actually, and no, not the holiday, but the attitude of gratitude that is associated with it,

because it's hard to feel entitled when you're constantly grateful and speaking gratitude about what you

have. Don't you agree? Let's just take a couple of minutes to speak into it

on this special day. I'll tell you, nothing gets you more back to reality and appreciative of

your life than moments when you're without. When I traveled to El Salvador for the first time and

had drinks without ice. I don't sound silly, but I've never thought twice about ice until I lived

without it. And oh, I missed it so much. When I slept in a bunk and a room with a gritty floor in Honduras,
