Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share the

word, prayers, and our heart.

I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be

five minutes well spent. So we're talking parenting all month on the show, and I'm hoping

there will be a little bit for everyone on here this month. For the parents of babies, toddlers,

teens, and even young adults, it's hard to hit all the groups, but I'm sure going to try. And even my single friends who so faithfully listen, if you're still

here knowing the topic, I'd love for you to stick around and file these for one day if you

and God choose you to parent. And, too, I pray these shows will give us all some insight into

who we are, how God parents us, and some deeper insights into our spiritual lives, always my

goal on here on these short shows. This week is our What to Do When Week, and up today, I want to

talk about this idea of sort of the black sheep of the family, maybe kind of the labels we put on our

kids, and most of all, what to do when our heart is broken by the choices of our

children. And by the way, this happens sooner than we might think. I don't remember all the exact

moments the realization hit me. My kids would break my heart. But I do remember one specifically

that I honestly can't talk about on

the show in detail because one of the things I always want to do is honor my family with my social

media and this show. And while I don't ever want to be cryptic because that's annoying, I know,

and generally not helpful, it's more important for me to honor the privacy in our home,
