Dave Ansel. Hi Dave. Hi Chris. Now coming up we're going to be finding out how

scientists have found a clever way to take the sting out of dentistry and

they're using a plasma gun to do it. Also a new kit to make

homemade bioethanol in your garage, not sure about the legality of that one and why

Popeye was right about spinach all along. They're scientific proof now that it

really does make your muscles stronger.

Thanks, Chris. Also this week we're finding out about mosquitoes, how they use smells to home in on us,

and how we can use other smells to ward them off.

We'll also be hearing how farmers can use natural

smells to keep pests off their crops. Plus Mira has been finding out how

understanding an insect's mating habits can also make them much easier to

catch. The powder in this case contains pheromone and the idea with this

one is the males fly in get covered in the powder which contains the female

sex pheromone fly off and they now smell like a female. This causes massive mating disruption.

I love that so there's going to be a male flying around with just loads of

other males following them around. That's right that's the sort of thing we hope will

happen with this sort of control
