Hello America and welcome to a new edition of John Solomon reports, a podcast from

Justin News, where in a few minutes we're going to be talking to what I think is one of

the more involved, engaged and really substantive members, new members of Congress, Congressman

Chip Roy of Texas.

I've been really proud to bring people on the show recently that just aren't politicians

with slogans, but are really focused on ideas because ultimately elections are one

by good ideas and by understanding and channeling the will of the American people into policy

actions that meet that need, meet that will, meet that desire.

And Congressman Chip Roy is a guy that is always talking about policy ideas and he brings

a lot of experience.

He was a cancer survivor, a very serious case of cancer.

He beat it, he knows the importance and he preaches about healthcare choice, which a lot

of Republicans miss the opportunity to talk about.

He is long talked about the deficit.

He's long talked about the need to support Israel and the danger of some of the Democratic

rhetoric and policies with Iran and China and others.

So very substantive on foreign policy.

And I also think that as one of the newer generations of Republicans in the house, he

is subscribed to an old rule, you know, it was a long time ago, I had the honor and blessing

to spend a good part of a day with President George H.W. Bush.

This is long after he had retired.

He was about to a 2010, 11, 12, somewhere in a time frame.
