Morning, everybody on my way to Morris County to teach over 130 police officers

the remainder of the two-day course did day one yesterday, a really good group, a lot of fun,

awlabs, a lot of stuff learned, a lot of lessons taken in and everybody's

gaining a lot of useful knowledge. I think it worked out really well

because so we're getting a lot of good feedback for everybody.

But I know that a Supreme Court case,

federal Supreme Court case, came out yesterday regarding expectation

of privacy in a rental car. And everybody up in arms like oh my God we've lost one did we even ever have one like did we even ever have one like did we even ever have one when this first came out and people are New Jersey

like, hey, what do you think?

Did you see that we have federal case law that says

a person doesn't have a reasonable expectation of privacy

if they're not the listed person on the rental agreement and I'm like

listen if that's going federal that's fine that's never gonna fly in New Jersey and we found yesterday was I didn't

even read the thing I just know what was happen. Is that that's not the case.

People have a reasonable expectation of privacy, even in a car that's not rented to them.

There's a process to go through things. If you want to try to get the rental car company to take the car back and then you're going to have to give

them an opportunity to take their stuff out of the car.

So if you're going to take a car from somebody, you just don't get to say like, oh, and leave your luggage.
