You predicted it.

You were the first to say, think that Strasbourg will be back and probably not on Anthony

Rendon.

So why isn't Anthony Rendon back, Tommy?

Well, according to the reports that came out of the winter meetings in San Diego,

that whatever offers that were made by the nationals,

including the typical learners deferred money offers,

and supposedly Rendon didn't want any part of that.

The offer that he agreed to with the Angels has no deferred money. It's the full amount

whatsoever. Now, the deferred money was fine for Scherzer. He was okay with it. Strasbourg was okay

with it. And then they tried to pitch this angle that Strasbourg's deferred money would give them a chance to sign Anthony Rendon.

I knew that was just a Boris fairy tale about that Strasbourg being the great teammate was going to get Anthony Rendon to sign there.

But he's gone.

And really, what the Nationals did is they chose a 31-year-old pitcher with Tommy John's surgery history

over a 29-year-old, probably the second-best third baseman in baseball, about to enter his prime.

That's what they did.

Yeah, Barry's Ruluga mentioned to me this morning.

You know, he had the report in September of what the Nats had offered. Right. 215 million between 210, 215 for seven years with the deferred money not matching the level of deferred money for Harper.

Right. More like the deferred money for Schurzer and what we presumed to be the deferred money not matching the level of deferred money for Harper. Right.
