Tony, I don't even know where to start.

I learned of that of this story, of Jerry's passing this morning on a flight down here to Dallas to cover the finals.

It has just been a sort of depressing day for me.

I feel very fortunate in that I got to be around Jerry West for years.

Years, years, years.

And I know that you did too.

Some of those years overlap, but you got there before me

and as you know, there was nothing quite like the privilege of being able to be around

Jerry West to listen to him you know he's a brilliant profane, compassionate, insightful, generous man who told his story in his autobiography,

which I would recommend that anybody read.
