0:26.0	And no, we're not skipping over the holiday of Thanksgiving and going right to Christmas.

0:32.1	But Sarah and I have been talking about Advent and thinking that we wanted to do this episode a little bit before
0:39.9	Advent starts, which this year in 2022, Advent starts on November 27th. And so Sarah and I wanted
0:48.8	to do this episode before that date. So you have time to think about it and possibly prepare, especially, listener, if you've never observed Advent.
1:00.3	So we want to talk a little bit about what Advent is, and of course this isn't a practice that most evangelicals have grown up practicing, but it is an ancient observance of
1:16.2	the historical Christian church. And Sarah and I have both weaved Advent into our family's life,
1:25.0	and we have seen the fruits of that and the goodness of it. And so we thought we'd
1:31.1	offer some of the resources and things that we have done and hopefully spur you on towards
1:37.7	observing Advent. So Sarah, do you want to start with some thoughts you have had on Advent?
1:45.1	First of all, before we really jump into giving some thoughts and resources and ideas for you guys,
1:51.7	we should kind of paint the quick picture of what is Advent.
1:55.4	I did not grow up celebrating Advent.
1:58.3	In fact, I didn't really start until my oldest two were, you know,
2:03.6	maybe four and two I kind of started implementing a little bit. Of course, when I first started,
