news broke that ted turner has passed at the age of 87 uh Tommy for us as wrestling fans and it goes far beyond wrestling, obviously, but for us as wrestling

fan, Ted Turner means so much to me. I know so much to you. And Ted Turner truly a larger

than life legend in so many different industries and so many different ways of life but uh ted turner

passing away at the age of 87 years old in this industry also in life you need somebody to get

behind you you need somebody to believe in you uh he believed in pro wrestling and you know used that

when he was starting this thing

called a global network, the super station. I was actually just having the conversation of why the

605 instead of the regular 6 o'clock. He took a risk. The risk paid off. He believed in wrestling so, so much. And,

you know, it's, he loved real sports, but he also loved pro wrestling. There's so many iconic

things, like when we hear the news, you know, the picture of him, Mr. Wrestling number two, Jimmy Carter, the picture of, like, Jimmy Carter,

Mr. Wrestling number two, and Jimmy Carter's mother, and Ted Turner, like, all in these different

things. It's just, he helped put wrestling on the map and, I mean, made me follow other sports, the Atlanta Braves, because it was always on professional wrestling.

But a guy who started off, like with a dream for this channel and the channel takes off.

So definitely missed.

Andy Griffith and Georgia Championship Wrestling, you know, basically was the foundation of the Super Station.

I remember when CNN started a 24-hour news channel.
