Cubs legend Ryan Sandberg passed away this week at the age of 65. We recorded this episode just

hours after he had passed away on Monday evening. We were really fortunate to have Ryan as a guest

at our first ever live show last year. And 14 minutes of that interview, we will play at the

Ryan Sandberg passed away today after a battle with cancer.

Rhino was a Cubs legend, a legend of the game, one of the best to ever do it.

But I think probably more importantly than that, just an unbelievable human being,

what he meant to the organization, the fan base, I was lucky enough to spend a good amount of time with him,

whether it was in spring training, him being around, he was always there, he was always

with the team from my first camp as a second baseman getting to talk to him and pick his

brain on it and him taking the time to behind the scenes at CubsCon

and waiting in those back rooms hearing stories. He was a special human and loved by not only

the fans, but his teammates that he played with. You get to see that with those guys sharing

stories and talking to each other and he will be missed by everybody, by everybody. And one of the coolest experiences that I had as a cub, or had as a cub, was getting

to see his statue unveiling last summer and what that meant to him and his family.

So he will be missed, a remarkable human and just a, you know, really special cub. Was it, did it happen like during the game?
