Well as the news broke, world leaders rushed to pay their respect, starting with British Prime Minister

Boris Johnson, who mourned Philip in a statement remarking that he had earned the affection

of generations in the UK and around the world, adding that the royal family has lost not just a

much loved and highly respected public figure, but a devoted husband and a proud and loving

grandfather and in recent years great grandfather. In a statement from President Joe Biden and

First Lady Dr Jill Biden, they remembered Philip and praised his years of devoted public service,

saying that his legacy will not only live on through his family, but in all the charitable endeavours

he shaped, and there were many of them, 830 charities and organisations that he supported during
