Welcome back to a special edition of the Adam Schaefter podcast.

Literally hours after we taped our podcast this week about the tush push staying alive,

about the Buffalo Bills and the NFC East being featured this season on the two hard knocks

episodes, the bills in the summer, the NFC East in season,

we got the word that the owner of the Indianapolis cults,

a legendary figure across the country, especially in Indianapolis,

as eclectic a man as there is had passed away.

The cult's owner Jim Mersey gone at the age of 65.

Word came shortly before the Indiana Pacers tipped off in the Eastern Conference finals

against the New York Knicks.

And oddly enough, strangely enough, hours before, Jim Mercy authored his final tweet in which

he wrote, Go Pacers, good luck to Herb, the entire Pacers organization, and our city with a

muscle emoji, a heart emoji.

And then hours later, Jim Ursay left us at the age of 65.

And it got us thinking to the conversation that we had with him back at the owner's meetings

in Phoenix, Arizona in 2017.

Mr. Ursey was kind enough to invite me back to his hotel room and we sat down

and I think I asked in the course of the conversation maybe three questions and the way

he spoke was the way that everybody knew him and the way that everybody will remember him.

He was interesting.

He was outspoken.

He was rambling.
