You know, I mentioned earlier that it was on this day in 2005

that Hurricane Katrina made landfall.

And that was such a big moment in my life

and for the Gulf Coast region.

I mean, listeners outside of the Texas to New Orleans

corridor, actually, for that matter,

full, full fairness Texas all the way to Florida

because Mississippi was hit pretty darn hard as well.

That hurricane really revealed,

you know, you can have corruption in government

and they're just stealing the money

and you might not notice it.

It's not until government needs to do

one of the few things that government is supposed to do

and uniquely capable of and that is emergency response.

Kathleen Blanco absolutely was reduced to tears.

She had a nervous breakdown.

That's your job.

So all the girl power, Kathleen Blanco people,

when they needed girl power,

she didn't have anything in the tank.
