Today, on the fifth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower disaster,

bereaved families and survivors grapple with the decision

for a fitting permanent memorial,

while continuing their fight for justice.

A warning before we start, this episode does include first-hand accounts of the Grenfell Fire Tower disaster, and they are distressing.

On the evening of June 14, 2017, a ferocious fire began spreading up Grenfell Tower,

a 24-story block of flats in Kensington, West London.

72 lives were lost in the place.

Among them was Hisham Raman.

Today, his nephew, Karim Musili, joins the family and friends of all those who died in a day of remembrance.

We've put together our own memorial event that will start at 4 o'clock,

it's a multi-faith memorial service, and we have opened up the tower in a way that it's never really been done before.

And then, after that, we're going to all get together for the silent walk. This will sort of be the first time that we're getting together properly.

Since COVID, and it's the five-year mark, I mean, it's just come and gone so quickly, we will still remember everything like it happened yesterday.

These are the latest pictures out of West London.

We've seen debris falling from the building. We've heard the sound of explosions.

We've heard the sound of glass breaking. The police have keep on pushing back their cordons, moving members of the public for fear that the building might collapse.

At a news conference, 12 hours after the fire had started, the emergency services insisted it was too early to reach any conclusions.

At this moment in time, we do not wish to speculate further about the cause of the fire or the fire spread.

With criminal charges yet to be brought and a public inquiry still underway,
