Well, Jay, we sat here at the day that we've heard the sad news about your good friend Eddie Jordan's passing.

How are you feeling, mate?

Yeah, it's obviously been a really sad day.

But the more I kind of think about Eddie and, you know, I'm not a massive fan of social media,

but every time I go on to my Instagram or on X, I'm flooded with people reminding me of tweets.

I've sent about him or videos that I've shared of him or even photos or videos that they've found of him or the two of us together. So actually, I'm actually really enjoying

reminiscing now that I've, um, now that I've sort of recovered from the initial shock when

I got the text from one of his children this morning to say that he passed away.

Well, what we thought it would be a nice tribute to Eddie is that we reminisce about your

experiences of someone that was so close and so important to you.

What was the first time you ever met him?

So the first time I ever met Eddie was when I was working on children's BBC and it would

have been late 2008 and this rumour went around that the BBC had won the rights to Formula One,

and I was desperate to be a sports presenter.

And I loved F1, so I went and had a few meetings with a guy called Niall,

who was a big boss at the BBC.

And eventually I got called into a meeting room one day,

and Niall Sloan, who was the head of Formula One and Mark Wilkin,

who was brought on board to produce Formula One for the BBC.

They both said to me, I'll never forget it.

They said, Mr Wilkin and Mr Sloan would like to offer you the job

as the BBC's Formula One presenter.
