Welcome to Emergence Magazine's podcast. I'm Emanuel Vaughn Lee, host of this show, an executive editor of Emergence Magazine,

located on the unseated ancestral lands of the Coast Mewalk people in present-day Marine County.

Each week, we feature interviews, stories, poetry, and author-narrated essays, exploring the

threads connecting ecology, culture, and spirituality.

For the past two weeks, we've been sharing a series of talks on the podcast that I gave

earlier in the year at our time retreat in Devon,

England. On today's episode, a third and final talk, which weaves together the ideas of the previous two,

and explores how time and place, love and kinship, and the cycles and rhythms of creation,

all flow in concert as an expression of the earth.

This talk offers a way of understanding earth time, not through a linear lens, but through the

principles and practices of spiritual ecology, and how this can allow an essence of love to emerge.

I speak about the great importance of learning to embody a relational way of being with

the earth and how we might remove the constructs of the self and the constructs of mechanized time

by connecting our inner senses, such as the heart, and the outer senses, what we see, hear and feel,

with the cycles that live and spin around and within us.

When we reorient ourselves to be in relationship with the essential rhythms of life, we

can come to know time as an animate, alive, and sacred expression of a love that runs through

all things.

I believe in this way,

our hearts can be like time capsules,

holding alive a language of love for the future. So I wanted to start by sharing a few things.
