Dave McGinnis, a wonderful man, passed away yesterday. A life lived inside of football.

Player, coach, commentator, friend, fan, great dude.

It made me very sad finding that out.

And the funniest thing that made me chuckle inside of like a little bit of the grief is Dan Pompeii sharing with everyone that you know what Dave McGuinness's nickname was?

The Iceman. The Iceman. Because he would deliver his homespun wisdom with a Texas twang while wearing aviator's sunglasses

and the players for the bears called him Iceman after Val Kilmer's character and Top Gun.

Dan Pompei's obit is beautiful, of course. And you should read it.
