Summary

Clyde Stubblefield was a towering genius whose drumming helped define modern popular music. He passed away Saturday at age 73, due to kidney failure. Unfortunately, Clyde died with no insurance; so a GoFundMe page has been set up to cover his funeral expenses. So, Tommy, how did you meet Clyde?

I met Clyde as a youth, as a young drummer in Madison,

at a local blues jam in Madison,

a bar called Cloak de Wash in just a little bit over 16 years old

so just a young kid getting ready to get pretty much getting into the local scene and he heard me play

and from that point I don't really just have positive things to say and positive encouragement

about what I was doing.

I was marching in Madison Scouts at that time, so I was, I had a huge influence on me right

away from the very first meeting.
