Last month, the world lost a fearless evangelist known simply as brother Andrew.

He was responsible for smuggling thousands of Bibles into the Soviet Union.

He faced threats of capture, torture, prison, execution, all with a simple creed, quote,

the Bible's full of ordinary people who went to impossible places and did wondrous

things simply because they decided to follow Jesus.

One story made famous in his 1967 book, God Smuggler, Brother Andrew described a scene at the

Romanian border in a Volkswagen packed with Bibles, with police searching cars for up to an hour

at a time, dismantling seats and hubcaps looking for contraband.

So Brother Andrew prayed,

Lord, when you were on earth, you made blind eye see.

Now I pray make seeing eyes blind.

He was waved through the checkpoint

with just a glance at his passport.

Brother Andrew who reminds us of how God continues to work

in extraordinary ways using ordinary people.
